Part 1 : Posting It (15 min)
List each Bn command functional role on a flip chart. Distribute Post-Its. Each team-member is to list out what they perceive to be the role of each of the other functional groups and the responsibilities they are expected to fulfil. Each expectation should be listed on a separate Post-It.
Completed Post-Its to be stuck up on the respective flip charts. Recommended : Use trigger questions, drawn from other units.
e.g. Who is the Cohesion IC?
e.g. Who initiates training of sharp shooters?
Part 2 : Sharing It (45 min)
Each functional group to examine the Post-Its on their chart. COFAC can help each group to organise the Post-Its into meaningful clusters (similar points, associated aspects) so that a more streamlined picture of the expectations can be seen.
Role clarification – each functional group to share with the whole team their accumulated Post-Its, point by point – acknowledging and seeking
clarification where necessary. CO should provide direction where it is unclear or to arbitrate where there are conflicting views. (CO may wish to take the lead by starting with his role.)
Recommended : Focus on CO, RSM, S3, S4 and OCs; and maybe S1 and MO.
Recommended : Appointment holders for each functional group to capture the set of expectations and pass to CO for consolidation.
(OR SHOULD COFACS DO THIS ON THEIR BEHALF, TO SAVE TIME AND GUARANTEE ACCURACY? SINCE WE CAN EASILY HAVE IT PHOTOGRAPHED AND TRANSCRIBED LATER)
Unit Examples:
e.g. Who is the Cohesion IC?
e.g. Who initiates training of sharp shooters?
